Roots, Rock Reggae by Bob Marley

Bob Marley was born in Jamaica he was a Rasterferi which is a subsidiary of the christian religion but many Rastas say that it is not a religion at all but a way of life . He smoked weed and wrote his music and was the lead singer of the band the Wailors. While a assasination atempt was made against him he died of  cancer. His legacy helped spread the Rasterferi movement and Jamaican music.

Reggae music is charecterised by the slow offbeat tempo and lots of bass. Many Jamaicans like to boost the bass almost distorting the music to give it extra quality. The video's of Marley's music often involve fotage of the preformance of him and the Wailors or them writing the music. In many videos he is smoking the red orange and green flag is used and the Rastafarian way of life is shown all of his band are black and have dreadlocks. The cinematography is usually documentary style therefore realistic lighting unless the band are playing on stage. In the video Buffalo Soldier the Wailors dressed up as cowboys despite still having their dreadlocks and wooly hats showing.
